As someone who has purchased replica bags for more than a decade, it‘s obvious that I am on the side of It’s OK. While I agree with the point of trademark and copyright point, it appears that the other three don’t really hold up.
First of all, the health factor, which may have been true in the past—but not anymore. Replica bags have had a quantitative leap in terms of quality; now, you can get some really nice material bags for an appropriate cost.
Secondly, child laborers. After dealing with a variety of sellers and understanding more about the industry, I can certainly tell that replica bags are not made through child labor – they are made by legitimate employees in a factory setting, just like regular items.

I know folks who purchase knockoff bags on DHgate, AliExpress, Amazon, eBay, iOffer, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook groups, and the list goes on.
Personally, if I’m buying replica designer bags online, I’m not gonna go for mainstream websites. It’s a pain because they often have anti-counterfeiting policies in place, which makes the shopping process challenging.
Take DHgate for instance – it’s hard to know what you’re getting since practically none of the product pages show any brand info or logos. So you have to keep asking for photos to see what the bags actually look like.
And buying directly from platforms such as DHgate and Alibaba usually means a secure payment method. However, due to the platforms’ restrictions, this rule doesn’t apply to the replicas as many replica sellers only accept offline transactions and can only be contacted for purchase via WeChat and other methods. Not to mention Amazon, whose standards are tougher than the others.

I am also not a fan of social media because I’ve been burnt by them (as have many other blog followers) and it’s hit or miss.
Moreover, as they are not intended to be used for shopping, the search process seems to be more time-consuming and irritating, particularly TikTok—No direct search option means you have no choice but to scour through account names and can only hope that you can find the right seller, which is also quite risky.

In my experience, items from DHG are generally low-mid tier. You really have to manage your expectations and also keep an eye out for fake reviews.

For the low tier, it’s great if you’re looking to try the item if you’re wondering about shape – like, how would it feel to have an oval bangle bracelet screwed around my wrist. It’s not so great for a Love bracelet that you want to be a stunning rep.
I guess they could be good. But I doubt it. I don’t put a whole lot of stock into any “influencer” recommendations. They’re being compensated in some way for the review/promotion whether it’s the product, a discount, or money, etc… And as a result they are biased, even if they don’t think they are.

I use my real name for shipping in case I miss the package and have to pick it up at the post office with an ID. There have been threads of people losing global entry in the US due to customs troubles, but that seems pretty rare.
I have my bank account connected to wise. It’s the lowest fee way to pay. Wise is a big enough fintech company that I trust having it connected. Just FYI, if you pay credit card with wise it charges as a cash advance.

I give my full name in case I miss the delivery and for some reason I need to pick it up from the store, they’ll only give the package to you if the name matches your ID. Also, let’s say they deliver it to another house in the neighborhood… I can’t imagine approaching my neighbor asking for a package under a fake name. But some people prefer lost packages over that. 😅 I think all depends on your priorities or maybe how expensive is what you’re expecting.
I give a fake name if the package is shipped via FedEx or UPS because they always leave the packages on my porch without a signature. I have a cute story about one of my reps. A few weeks ago, I was on an Etihad flight in business class. It was a short flight so the seats weren’t lie flat. My Celine belt bag was in front of me but couldn’t quite fit wholly under the seat in front of me. The flight attendant noticed this and told me it would have to go in the overhead bin. No problem with me at all. When I handed it to her, she said, “Ohhhhh no, this cannot go in the overhead bin.” She cradled it like a baby and put it in the coat closet at the front of the plane. I found rep store in Bangkok. Birkin and kelly are very calloutable as it’s very yellow not gold hardware. Low to mid tier for sure. I asked and there is no behind the store but you can order it to be made! Some leather look ok but some are not as nice. It’s not made in China that I expected but in Samut prakan (a province with many factories in Thailand.) hence able to be ordered.
It’s just interesting to see local store doing rep instead of importing from factory in China!
It’s so funny that I’m so picky on differences between replicas but if I see any of those bags (which are obviously not good quality and don’t even have the full branding) on someone passing by me on the street I would never be able tell if they are auth or rep. 😅

It’s completely unpredictable. I ship with EMS a lot and have almost always received my packages within 7 days of it leaving China, but there have been a few times where it’s taken a really long time. My YSL LouLou & Chanel C/F were on “plane departed” for literally 56 days in 2021 🥲
There’s also a few different forms of EMS so I’d say it depends on which one was used too. Try not to worry too much! I hope it updates soon!

Try stuffing it & conditioning the leather. That always seems to help my bags when I store them improperly.

I grew obsessed with the lambskin Chanel maxi hobo and got a replica but I didn’t do my research and It’s the smaller size. I’ve checked with many sellers about the larger size and no luck.
I tried another Chanel hobo and it only had a clasp, no zipper. All my contents spilled out. I’m clumsy. The search continues.

I had aversion to open top bags till I got one. Everything is in pouches inside and I lay a scarf over the top. I also put my card wallet in the zippy bit. Before Covid and abandoning cash my wallet went in a drawstring pouch and was attached to some hardware inside the bag. So could pull it out no bother and it was secure. One benefit of Covid was abandoning large cash/card wallets. Never had any issues as yet.

I think the medium Celine soft 16 would work for that! I got the large for my 16” laptop (I hate my giant work laptop) and even though that thing is a suitcase it didn’t feel like it put undue pressure on my shoulder, and the straps weren’t constantly slipping or needing readjustment (a problem I’ve had with my Seau Sangle). I work for a large bank so needed something professional and not showy.

From them I’ve learned every factory has their own fortes so it’s essential that your sellers know which factories are good for what products.
My sellers and I have even become friends now and they would go out on a limb to do extra things for me. So you’re right in saying it’s important to stick with the sellers you have dealt with and trust.
I still buy authentic stuff, but only for styles that I know the factories wouldn’t make a good copy of.
